About this policy
SMART Recruitment Service Pty Ltd ("SMART Recruitment", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide through our website forms, by email, by phone or in person, including:
- employer contact details and information about vacancies;
- candidate names, contact details, CVs, work history, qualifications, licences, preferred occupations and availability;
- broad visa or residency status categories and interest in sponsorship;
- referee details and reference feedback, with your consent.
We do not ask for passport scans, identity documents or medical information through our website.
How we use your information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess candidate suitability, present candidates to prospective employers, communicate about relevant opportunities, conduct reference and compliance checks, and administer our recruitment services.
Disclosure
We share candidate information with prospective employers only for recruitment purposes and with your consent. We may disclose information to service providers who help us operate our business, such as website hosting and form-processing providers, and to an independent registered migration agent where you have asked to be referred. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information where required by law.
Storage and security
Information submitted through our website is processed by our hosting provider, Netlify, which may store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and limit access to our recruitment team.
Retention
We keep candidate information while it is relevant to current or future opportunities, and generally for no more than two years after our last contact with you, unless a longer period is required by law. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Access, correction and withdrawal
You can ask to access or correct your personal information, or withdraw your consent to us holding it, by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
